What's Happenin' in Nicaragua!
Welcome to Nica Land, an inside view of what's going on in Nicaragua... the property, the people, and the reality of living the dream.

The little things October 17, 2008

Hi everyone, and welcome back to Nica Land. For those who are just joining us, my name is Kassidy, and my good friend Chanelle and I are committed to showing you the land that Dale's been telling you about, and what's happening down here in Nicaragua.

Check out some little known thing’s I’ve observed in Nicaragua....

~It is literally gorgeous for 11 months out of the year; October being the exception, in which it rains all day, everday. (Of course my annoyingly positive attitude can find beauty in even the rainy days.)

~The local people love to point it out when you have a blemish on your face. Maybe because my skin is pasty white and it shows up easier? I don’t know why.

~Nicaraguan people LOVE baseball. They have full teams & leagues with paid Umps, and real NICE uniforms. Game day is a big deal around here, and the players and fans are not messin’ around.

~ The local people here in the Campo, walk through the jungle at night, often times shoeless, with only the light of the stars to guide them.

~Children grow up very tough here. You rarely hear one crying, and it is not unusual to see a four year old carrying an infant alone on a road in the middle of nowhere. It is also normal to see an 8 year old boy on horseback traveling un-acompanied, and riding bareback.

~There are cities in Nicaragua with grand hotels and elegant restaurants that rival places in the States.

~The Nicaraguan people as a culture love to dress up, and when they go to town, they look VERY nice. Men wear slacks and dress shoes, and the women are in make-up and heels, regardless of how dirt or cobblestoned the road is and if they rode there in the back of a pickup truck.

Come visit us down here and see what all the talk is about!
